Congleton CLP back call for change to leadership election rules

Congleton CLP voted last night (4th April 2016) to call for a change to Labour Party leadership election rules.  The resolution tabled by treasurer Paula Eaton, stated that the incumbent (leader or deputy leader) will be automatically included on the ballot paper if they inform the General Secretary in writing that they wish to be a candidate in the election.  This was overwhelmingly supported by the members present.
