APPLICATIONS AND SHORT-LISTING
Any member who wishes to be considered as the candidate must apply using the standard forms available on Membersnet by 23rd May 2014. The Congleton Labour Party has appointed a Selection Committee for this procedure. The Selection Committee will consider all applications and draw up a long-list from among nominations received of people they wish to interview. Those interviews will take place on 14th June 2014. The Selection Committee will interview potential candidates and draw up a short-list for local members to consider. The final decision will be made by local members at a hustings meeting where thy will be able to question candidates before casting their vote. Postal votes will be available for members who are unable to attend.
The hustings meeting, where members will be able to cast their vote, will be held at 7pm on 14th July (location to be confirmed). Please note members must be present to hear all the candidates in order to be issued with a ballot paper at this meeting. Further information about the hustings meeting will be available in due course.
If a member is unable to attend the meeting to cast their vote they may apply for a postal vote. An application form is available from the Secretary. The closing date for applications is the 14th June 2014.
