A report in the Guardian says that the lack of disposable income and rocketing living costs are forcing young adults to miss out on key milestones.
Young adults’ incomes are now as much as 20% below the national average, as revealed by a Guardian investigation. Low incomes, coupled with rising living costs, debt and a lack of employment mean that some of us will fail to meet even the basic milestones of adulthood:
- Living alone, or owning a home
- Finding a long-term partner, and living together
- Working in a full-time, permanent job
- Having children
- Saving for the future

We must re-connect young adults with politics if we are to get a government that gives them back their right to a better future. Older people vote and this government is looking after them!
