Inspector rejects Cheshire East Local Plan

It would appear that the government Planning Inspectorate still believes that Cheshire East Council CANNOT demonstrate a credible 5-Year housing supply.  It is understood  that CEC were awaiting the decision on the Elworth Farm appeal, Inquiry 2196044.  The appeal decision was released on Friday 11th April and the appeal was upheld in favour of the developer and the Inspector states in the decision that CEC is still unable to demonstrate a 5-Year housing supply.

This is very bad news for the residents of Cheshire East and in the short to medium term it would seem CEC will not be able to oppose speculative planning applications on the grounds that they can demonstrate a 5-year housing supply.
